Still Life With Cat

This one is actually an "out take" of an earlier work that I posted entitled "Endgame". In the process of setting up the shot and taking the first of what would be many pictures, Sneaky Bandit ran across the table where the chess pieces and tatami mat were set up. I'd had a long exposure on the camera, as I was photographing in a fairly dark room.

Looking at the picture through the viewfinder after it processed, I was immediately disappointed, figuring that the shot was pretty much ruined and carried on shooting. When I uploaded the pictures, I discovered that I was actually delighted with the shot. The cat has actually ended up mostly-transparent, so the shot shows through him.

I've been waiting to put this one up because I'm really really proud of it. So much so that it feels a bit like walking into a roomful of strangers topless.
